it's my birthday, it's my birthday

BurningBlonde turns 21! I can't believe that I am already 21 years old. Hope you all have a lovely Thursday! I having such a great day so far, the sun is out and I also had a day off work. My blog will be running normally from Monday.
laura mercier silk creme foundation review
It took me so long to write a full review of the famous Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation. I had this tube for around a year and kept on using it on and off and for the past 1,5month I have been using it every day purely to use it up and get rid of the foundation. I been observing how it behaves on the skin after few hours of wear, lets get straight to the point.

COLOUR: The colour match is amazing, normally I'm the palest shade with every brand. My Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation shade is Soft Ivory. It's a yellow base foundation.
FORMULA/TEXTURE: The foundation is very creamy and thick.
APPLICATION: I tried so many techniques of applying this foundation, the best one so far is applying it with a wet sponge. Applying with fingers just doesn't work, as the foundation just won't stay in place, if you keep on rubbing it, unless you pat it in, I would say you could make it work. The brush again didn't work for me either.
COVERAGE: I would day medium to full coverage and you must remember that you only need to apply a little bit. If you apply to much, the foundation just won't stay on the skin. I tried building it up, to receive much more fuller coverage but it just didn't work.
LASTING POWER: I am really disappointed to say, that this is the worst foundation, when it comes to lasting power. After two hours my face was shiny, the foundation was in my pores. Everything have came off my oily nose, as well as every time I touched my face with my finger I ended up with foundation on my finger. Whenever I wear foundation, I just like it to stay in place like it's glued, I dislike when a foundation keeps on moving around on my face. I tried to use it with different primers, but nothing seems to work.
OVERALL OPINION: At first I really liked the foundation, but after a longer period of time and testing, I started to dislike it. It's overpriced for what it is. There are a lot more better foundation to try out.

Did you have a chance to try out the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation? What is your opinion on it?

empties: april 2015

So many products I manged to use up within a month! I can finally throw away the empty packaging and collect more for next month, hopefully there will be more make-up than skincare/body products, as I am trying to minimize my make-up collection. I just realised that this month there are a lot more drugstore products, better for the purse! This month I manged to use up:

DiorShow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum: The best lash treatment I've tried so far! Definitely on a repurchase list. Made my lashes look a lot more healthier, as well as the serum helps to hold the curl in my lash. Not sure how, but this product manged to turn mascaras into waterproof! You can read more about it here.
Hourglass Veil Primer*: Way to pricey for what it does, to be honest I don't understand how can people like the veil primer so much? I tried to like it, but I didn't see any different whenever I used it or didn't use it. Well it's really smooth on the skin, but this primer just didn't make my foundation last any longer. Guess it's just not for me.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer: One of my favourite concealers, will be picking up a third tube soon! The Concealer is very lightweight, great colour match and last pretty much all day.
DiorShow New Look Mascara: My all time favourite mascara, I really wish that Dior will come out with a waterproof version! Sadly I won't be able to use the mascara during summer as I will definitely have panda eyes. The little wand grabs the lashes so well, gives them lot of volume and length. I decided to keep the wand and try to use it with different mascaras formulas.
Maybelline Brow Pencil in Medium Brown: When you don't have the time to do you brows, the Maybelline Brow Pencil is just amazing! I would definitely compare it to the Anastasia Brow Wiz. Already bought a new one.
TRESemme Weightless Body & Volume Conditioner: Smells really nice, kept the moisture in my hair. Didn't really see much volume, but the conditioner was okay. Nothing special.
TRESemme Deep Conditioning Treatment: I really enjoyed to use the treatment in the shower, made my hair look less frizzy afterwards. Smelled really nicely too.
Essie Nail Polish in Mint Candy Apple: Ahh my summer shade, I love Mint Candy Apple on my toes during summer. Will definitely re-purchase. I am actually quite surprised that I manged to use up a nail polish.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Cleansing Gel: Whenever I have bad skin days, I always go back to the Effaclar. Effaclar always clears up my skin, I wouldn't recommend using it for too long as it does tend to dry out the skin.
This Works Clean Skin Moisture Scrub: Another okay, but not amazing product. Didn't like the scent at all. I liked the fact that it's a moisturisng scrub, so my skin didn't get dry.
Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask*: Such a great mask! I am so gutted that I no longer have it. Might make a sneaky Antipodes order soon. The mask have helped me to clear up my skin, without drying it out. Although I never been sold on the scent, I really liked how my skin looked the next day.
TRESemme Volumising Dry Shampoo: My all time favourite dry shampoo. You can read more about it here.
Vo5 Give Me Texture Spray: We all love having texture in our hair and volume, lets not forget about the volume. Not going to lie I tried better non sticky Texturising Sprays, this one just left my hair feeling sticky, almost like a hairspray.
Pantene Conditioning Spray: I really enjoyed using this before brushing my hair. Smells really nice, whenever I had dry frizzy hair this was my life saver. Will be looking for another spray, any recommendations?
Garnier Pure Active Daily Energizing Scrub: I enjoyed using this under the shower, but after a longer period of time, I've noticed that it started to dry out my skin. Smelled so good thought!
Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Cream: I am not sure what it is, but I just feel like none of the Origins creams are absorbed by my skin! Whenever I woken up I could still feel the cream on top of my face.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Facial Cream*: Kept my skin moisturised, but again nothing amazing.
John Frieda Go Blonder Conditioner:  I love the Go Blonder range by John Fredia. Will definietly re-purchase. I love having blonde hair, will soon do an update post on my current hair colour. You can read more about the Go Blonder duo here.
